Private, reference-shirt comparison

Compare the garment, not the size letter.

Measure a woven shirt that already fits the way you like, then compare the seller’s finished-garment measurements. Your entries stay in this browser and are never sent to our analytics.

Measure the shirt laid flat

Four measurements, four exact tape paths.

Button the shirt, smooth it without stretching, and measure straight between the marked points. Use the same unit and method for both shirts.

PIT TO PIT

1. Flat chest width

Measure straight across the buttoned front from the base of one armhole to the other. Do not double this number in the form.

SEAM TO SEAM

2. Shoulder width

Turn the shirt over. Measure across the upper back from the point where one shoulder seam meets the sleeve to the same point on the other side.

COLLAR TO HEM

3. Back length

On the back, start at the center seam where the collar joins the shirt. Measure straight down to the bottom edge of the hem.

TOP SEAM

4. Sleeve length

Start where the shoulder seam meets the sleeve. Follow the top sleeve seam to the outside sleeve edge.

Flat measurements narrow the uncertainty; fabric, posture, construction and personal preference still affect fit.
