Evidence before rankings

Editorial and research methodology

How the site separates historical sources, garment specifications, editorial analysis and actual hands-on product evaluation.

Start with the reader’s decision

Every guide begins with a question a reader can act on: how a shirt should fit, what reverse print means, which care instruction controls, or what a construction detail can and cannot prove.

Use identifiable evidence

Historical claims favor museums, universities, public records and specialist books. Care and labeling claims use government guidance. Manufacturer statements are treated as specifications, not independent proof.

Document hands-on experience

Hands-on evaluations identify the item and access method used. Research and specification analysis draw clear conclusions from their strongest available evidence.

Explain tradeoffs

Fiber, weave, drape, care, print scale, fit and setting pull in different directions. We describe the decision instead of hiding it inside a universal score.

Review commercial pages

Before any commercial page ships, it must pass source, disclosure, destination, availability and policy checks. Commission rate does not determine inclusion or order.
