Minimal collection

Privacy policy

How the Aloha Shirt Field Guide and its service providers collect, use and retain limited technical and interaction data.

Last updated

What this site records

The first-party event service records page paths, stable interaction identifiers, placement labels, event times, a short-lived random session identifier and the entry domain. On redirect-only domains, a keyed daily code derived from a shortened network address and broad browser family estimates repeated request groups. The code is isolated by domain and day; the original address and full browser string are not stored. The service is designed not to store URL query strings, form answers, names or email addresses.

Google Analytics

Google Analytics 4 measures page views, sessions, navigation and outbound-link interactions. Its default web collection can include a first-party _ga cookie and pseudonymous client identifier, approximate location, browser and device information, operating system, language, referrer, page URL and page title. The field guide does not intentionally send names, email addresses or account-level user IDs to Google Analytics.

Hosting and security

Cloudflare delivers the site, HTTPS, DNS and security services. Like other hosting and security providers, Cloudflare may process request information such as IP address, browser details, requested URL, timestamps and security signals to deliver and protect the service under its own privacy terms.

How the data is used

Technical and interaction data is used to keep the site secure, diagnose failures, understand which guides are useful, measure outbound retailer interest and improve navigation and content. The field guide does not sell reader contact information and does not operate a reader-account or newsletter database.

Retention

Daily redirect-request codes are designed for deletion within 48 hours; only aggregate request, estimated-group and automation counts remain. Raw first-party interaction events are designed for deletion after 90 days. Daily first-party aggregates may be kept for up to 25 months. Google Analytics data follows the retention controls configured for the property and Google’s applicable terms; aggregate reports may remain available longer than user-level event data. Security and delivery logs follow Cloudflare’s applicable settings and policies.

Cookies and choices

Google Analytics may use the _ga first-party cookie to distinguish browsers and sessions. Visitors can block or delete cookies, use browser tracking protections or content blockers, and use Google’s Analytics opt-out browser add-on. Blocking analytics does not prevent access to the site.

Outbound retailer links

Retailer clicks are measured using stable link and placement identifiers. Affiliate networks and retailers may set their own cookies or collect information after a visitor voluntarily follows a link; their privacy policies apply at the destination. The field guide does not receive a shopper’s payment-card details from those links.

Email and privacy requests

Messages sent to the published contact address are used to review and answer the request. Do not email sensitive information. Questions about this policy or requests concerning available access or deletion rights can be sent to hello@aloha-shirts.com.
